THEME: STRENGTHENED IN THE MIDST OF OPPOSITION

TEXT: Nehemiah 4:2

“What are those feeble Jews doing? Will they restore their wall? Will they offer sacrifices? Will they finish in a day? Can they bring the stones back to life from those heaps of rubble—burned as they are?”

Beloved of Zion Congregation, Sanballat’s words were meant to mock, discourage, and weaken the resolve of God’s people. Opposition often speaks loudly when God’s work is progressing. As we continue the work God has entrusted to us as a congregation, this Scripture reminds us that ridicule and doubt are signs that the assignment matters.

The work of God at Zion may appear small or weak to critics, but it carries divine strength. When God is involved, even burned stones can rise again. What others call impossible, God calls purposeful. Let the voice of faith within Zion Congregation be louder than every voice of mockery.

People of God (Zion Congregation):

1. Expect opposition as we advance God’s work together.

2. Do not internalize discouraging words spoken against Zion.

3. Remember: God specializes in restoring what looks ruined.

4. Stay focused on the vision, not the critics.

5. Let prayer, unity, and perseverance silence ridicule.

Prayer:

Lord, strengthen Zion Congregation when opposition arises. Help us to trust Your power even when others doubt the work You have called us to do. Renew our courage and enable us to finish what You have started among us. Amen.
